Andrew joined the practice in 1984, having previously worked in London. He returned to Carlisle to continue the Johnston practice working under both his father and uncle; he became a director in 1989. Andrew has worked in residential, education and commercial projects and extensively in conservation projects, winning a number of Civic Trust awards for conservation. Andrew has recently been Lead Consultant on a series of large commercial projects, as well as undertaking a number of bespoke housing projects.
Alastair joined the practice in 1988, having previously worked in London and Edinburgh, and was appointed director in 1991. Alastair has worked on healthcare, education, residential and commercial projects, and is an Architect Accredited in Building Conservation, working on a variety of conservation projects within the practice. Alastair has recently been the Lead Consultant in a number of high profile public sector projects.

Adam joined the practice in 1989 having previously worked in the Scottish borders, and was appointed Associate in 1991. Adam has worked extensively on residential and healthcare projects as well as a number of commercial projects and public buildings. Adam currently specialises in healthcare projects and is the Project Architect for a number of health projects.
